Clocking in at just over 11 minutes, the epic Gus Gus long play mix is an absolute must-own vinyl experience which goes some way to explaining why copies of this particular 12" gem change hands at an average price of £20.00 and more...and it is worth every single penny of your hard earned cash. Gus Gus are clearly huge Mode fans with this beautifully crafted 'mega' mix full of new analogue layers that add so much to an already stunning track full of lush sonics. With enough of Dave Gahan to keep the purists happy, this mix actually plays like one of the classic Alan Wilder extended mixes with extra instrumental interludes and complex drum patterns - Gus Gus really do take you on an audio trip with this remix. One should also mention the remixes on the flipside of PainKiller and Surrender (all recorded during the Ultra sessions) that are terrific remixes. This LTD Mute release together with stunning sleeve is an absolute essential purchase - the only downside is the fact that this 12" is so irritatingly scarce to find here in the UK..
