there are several MONO editions out there now. This year 1998 Snapper 155652 CD release is the best one so far, to my ears - and is certainly superior to the year 2000 Madfish SDPCD109 issue (which does not sound mono to me, instead a weirdly flat stereo -avoid)
For those hunting MONO: original Columbia SX 6306 is marked "also available in stereo No.SCX6306" on rear of LP sleeve.
Interestingly this catalogue quirk does not seem to label an LP/CD as being mono, but instead hints at this by being also available in stereo.
Original LP label does not denote as mono or stereo. Many excellent indicators can be found on detailed LP notes elsewhere.
BEST stereo CD so far: Snapper SPCD109 year 2000 release-labelled as stereo.
Why so many varying releases share exactly the same SDPCD109 catalogue number when they are so different, I do not know.
For anyone who wonders, I did buy the original mono LP in 1968 and still have it.
