Edited one year agoHoly hell - this is a whole other level. Insanely quiet pressing - and I mean dead-quiet / zero background groove noise. Bass is way more prevalent, and if you can switch your preamp to mono, you get the full experience as originally intended. The lolly-red translucent vinyl also looks amazing. Save your $$, as this will be worth big $$ in years to come.

This is the definitive version of this classic. Just wish they would have had the original insert and sleeve.

Next to the 2014 AAA mono release, this early 80s pressing holds its own. There are several outstanding and easier to come by pressings of this album, but if one happens across this in good shape and for a reasonable price, jump on it!
-
Very balanced recording. Not heavy on the low end but the ending E major chord to "A Day in the Life" is toned down significantly compared to modern mixes. Still an excellent mono recording!

Is the vinyl red or what? It would be nice if people included overview pics of the whole record.. Just saying!
