Edited 6 days agoIt didn't make me emotional like the Revolver pressing, but it's definitely the cleanest I've heard for A hard day's night, which is IMO a pretty dense album. There's 2 problems to me :
1) its too expensive, it should not cost more than 80$
2) your amp must be in good shape because it's asking to turn the volume up. Again it's how I felt it.
Great great pressing though.
This version for mono.
Uk 76 for stereo.

These red vinyl Japanese Beatles mono pressings sound like crap. Too in your face punchy, and you can hear every annoying detail. And they're so quiet it's like listening to a CD. Who wants that? If you have one you should put it up on Discogs ASAP before the market collapses.

Edited 3 years agoI recently acquired this version. Wow...I have the new Mono vinyl of this and it definitely rivals the new Mono mix IMO. The new Mono def wins by about 5%. My version is NM/NM and sounds like it was purchased yesterday. Quiet Flat and just plain cool. I cant wait to pick up a few more. So what is the difference? Where the new version is smooth and balanced..this version is "hot" and in your face. Thats the difference...which is better?...see above.

My copy sounds wonderful and is dead silent. Haven't compared with 2014 mono yet. I have two different albums in 1982 Japan mono and I'll probably never get rid of them. They are THAT good.
