I use this album to test my systems, whenever I reconfigure something. For example, about three minutes into "Saeta", Miles is (largely) soloing when the entire ensemble re-enters. There is a striking bass resonance at that moment that (for me) is a kind of acid test of any recording of this album. This MSFL SACD/CD captures that as well as the original 1960 stereo LP, along with many other wonderful sonic moments (of course). I recommend this release without reservation and in the strongest possible. Even if you do not have an SACD player, the CD layer is worth it and will yield wonderful results.
