Je commence ma collection de vinyles, et ce LP est de loin le meilleur, techniquement parlant. Dark side of the moon 50th anniversary, Close to the Edge 30th anniversary, Bad 180g ? Du son du niveau MP3 à coté de cette excellente production ! Artistiquement parlant, il est aussi sans doute le meilleur d'Alan Parsons et ses complices. Il est en tout cas mon préféré.
-absolument aucun bruit de fonds, hormis quelques rares et légers cracks hélas inhérents à ma copie
-une dynamique entre les pianissimos et les fortissimos, ce qui est absolument nécessaire pour retranscrire justement les larges parties symphoniques de l'album aussi étendue que la version CD !!
-tous les instruments sont facilement identifiables et localisables à l'oreille
- très large scène sonore
-des basses bien présentes, alors que je les trouvais bien timides sur ma version cd
Il n'empêche que toutes ces performances techniques ne sont que le minimum imposé vu les performances également d'Alan Parsons en tant qu'ingénieur du son !
- et cerise sur la crème chantilly, les visuels sur la pochette et les sleeves qui laissent vite défiler l'imagination comme celle d'Edgar Poe.
Juste par curiosité, je vais me procurer également la version italienne 20th Century Records – 6370 243 A (pochette totalement différente), et la version française disc aZ.
Puis certainement d'autres, tellement j'aime cet album!

On my copy of this pressing, the print on the inner gatefold is fuzzy and misprinted. Anyone else have this pressing issue? -

This seems to be the only really very good sounding pressing.
Wide and dynamic.
Hard to get a straight NM copy. -
