Enervate here doesn't have a consistent BPM, it drifts at the beginning and the ending of the track. This issue isn't seen on the Perfecto reissues, though it's played about 0.2% faster there.

Perpetua is a decent b-side, but is pretty repetitive, even by trance standards.

Transa - Enervate / Perpetua - I have been playing this since 1997. Thirteen years on, it is still one of the few tunes I can never sit through without having to tell who ever I am with that it is one of the best tunes I have. I have over 6,000 trance, house, techno, hard house, acid techno etc tunes on vinyl. Transa - Enervate / Perpetua stands out as an all time classic and never fails to take the listener to that special place that makes the whole scene worth while.

'Enervate' is a simple but uplifting tune, renowned by some for its ability to rouse a flagging dancefloor. So presumably this is why Transa gave it a title that sounds a bit like "energize" and "invigorate" ...but if you check a dictionary you'll find that "enervate" actually means the exact opposite of those words!?

The choice of title may be a little odd but it's still a great track - with elements of the distinctive early Hook sound plus some of Transa's typically subtle but effective chord-shifty bits - so it's no surprise that 'Enervate' became the second track from the Webster brothers to get a big re-issue on Perfecto.
