I'm a massive Transa fan and have been collecting loads of their records. They have a distinctive sound with lots of filtering synths and sound effects. Very "Trancey" Trance. Transa – Behind The Sun (original mix) is one of their masterpieces! It builds and builds until the bassline drops - perfect!

Edited 4 years agoI love that the reviews / comments are from 2019 & 2020. Trance is still alive!
The A side, Behind The Sun is a 138bpm ‘serious’ trance track. By serious I mean it’s got a driving bass line and synth melody which takes its time to build, but remains quite low in octave, with the gradual introduction of snares claps fills and crash cymbals to give a real sense of progression. When the breakdown comes it’s accompanied by epic snare rolls and classic Transa sfx, then drops back into the same serious melody until it changes key into a minor key. It’s epic ‘moody’ trance at its finest.
Behind The Sun (Remix) is a classic example of Transa’s extensive work. A lot of the instruments and fx are used in other Transa tracks so it gives it an easily identifiable structure to those in the know. The melody is subtle, late 90’s trance, without being cheesy. There is, as often with Transa trance productions, a sense of melancholy provided by strings and synths on minor keys. Think less Judge Jules, more Oakenfold.

For sure my favourite Transa release*. The production is classy, never sounding too "in your face".
The breakdown is filled to the brim with tension, and the main riff is dark & mysterious.
It kinda reminds me of Astral Projection. They would make one hell of a remix!
*Props to the amazing Transtar too
