Edited 19 years agoThe Exploited are one of the most hilarious bands around. Whether this is intentional I'm not sure but I find it impossible to take them seriously.
The opening, title track starts with some punk screaming like a deranged maniac for 45 seconds which is slightly disturbing but also very funny. There's also a song on this album called "You're A Fucking Bastard". It's basically that line repeated over and over. There is one more stroke of genius, the only other lyrics are "And A Shit Fuck Too!". They've even been kind enough to print the lyrics just incase you didn't quite catch it. This album includes other delights such as "Fucking Liar" and Noize Annoys". At the start of "Noize Annoys" there is the sound of what sounds like your Grandmother saying "Will you turn that friggin music down!". "Lie To Me" is a belting punk/speed metal song about dickhead politicians.
I actually do quite like this album and there's some brilliant punk/speed metal on this that has some awesome riffage. Wattie is also a great vocallist and his screaming is inspired. This album is a good example of proper, noisy, snotty, anti-establishent punk which is evident from the title. These are not Tory voting, bedwetting nice boys like Busted. The Exploited are tough working class blokes from Edinburgh who really don't give a fuck and they make Green Day sound like The Carpenters. They're also bloody funny too.
