Can anyone comment on how this compares to the 2006 Kevin Gray pressing?

Sounds absolutely fantastic with only a little bit of inner groove distortion.

I got a weird copy pressed in West with same cover as the first UK pressing made by Garrod and Lofthouse. 20 TPSA 7504 A-1U and made in in run off groove

Killer sounding record! Warm and with a huge soundstage. I highly recommend it.

Totally worth it for 'Highway Star'. Totally not worth it for 'Smoke on the Water'. Allow me to explain, I've spent more than a decade working in a music shop. I've heard 'Smoke on the Water' butchered buy an amateur guitar player more times than you've had hot meals. Those opening three notes haunt my nightmares. I break out in a cold sweat whenever I hear it. To me, it sounds like nails on a caulk board. Whenever it plays, I feel like I need to scream but find myself totally unable to. I would rather die a horrible, painful, brutal death than be made to listen to it one more time... Other than that though, it's a pretty good record.

Great sound! I found a vg to vg+ copy of it recently in a record store in Glasgow with the insert and the vinyl in good condition for £2! Not sure if staff were aware it was the 1st pressing or if they wanted to give someone an amazing deal? I would have assumed that 1st pressings that are worth something would be snapped up immediately by staff in record stores?
