As a fan of Telomere, I feel almost embarrassed to only be discovering this album today. What a stunning masterpiece.
There is a timeless quality to it, not a single second sounds like 1981 (or any other year). It could be released today (or whatever day you're reading this) and it would not sound old or dated.
Absolutely outstanding.
As a sidenote, fans of Life In The Gravity Well should check out Lisa Gerrard With Klaus Schulze - Come Quietly. Very similar in style, spread over a full album. -
IMPORTANT NOTICE !!!
Please help me gather info for early Stearns tracks/releases called:
"Desert Moon Walk", "Underwater Witnessing" and "Resonant Renewal".

Edited one year agoHow is this so good!?? I don’t often think to call something a masterpiece, but if this isn’t then I don’t know what is. It’s truly an otherworldly listening experience. Inspired and inspiring, really one to sit with again and again…

Do we maybe have the chance for another repress? And it would be lovely if there would be a higher amount of records for the european marked as of the 2019 repress. Would love to hear this masterpiece finally from vinyl.

There’s no mincing words about the music on this album. Cosmically yearning, breathing, heart-thumping, head-spinning, essential ambient. Walks the line between minimal and maximal while never letting the tension falter. Get it, play it, sink yourself down into it, keep at it until you finally get it. Be inspired.

Truly a masterpiece. There are not many (if any) deep space albums that evoke such beauty throughout its entire runtime. It's a visionary dive into forever. Essential.

Edited 9 years agoThis album is available as a CD on Demand product or a Bandcamp (FLAC is an option) through Michael Stearn's website or Bandcamp page. Do not pay the ridiculous prices people are asking for this album here and on eBay.
