As reviewed by me on August 29, 1993:
The first of many more Moby releases on Elektra, the "Move" EP is diverse and energetic, a refreshing change from his Ambient album which received mixed reviews on the net. The title track is an upbeat, poppy soon-to-be-number-1 club cut complete with a real wailing diva (not sampled). The people I've talked to either like it or hate it. "All That I Need.." is a fast trancey number with a 303; "Morning Dove" is fairly decent tribal; "Move (Disco Threat)" is a clubbier, even more uptempo version of "Move" but unfortunately not that good; "Unloved Symphony" is a great combination of breakbeat, trance, and—get this—melody, at least in parts; and the last track is actually an impressive attempt at ambient. It really would've been nice to hear it on the Ambient album instead of.. well, never mind. Overall, well worth it for Moby fans. There are some good tracks for the clubs, but I wouldn't expect to hear these at a rave, at least not around here... these songs just aren't, um, serious enough. They're good, and danceable, just not intensely so.
Summary: 8/10. Best Moby offering all year, diverse but suffers somewhat from bandwagonitis.
