I will say. This release was not a dissapointment.
Well Defined Drums, Great album if you want some heavy action and no boredom!
Full Pot Tracklist.
And a Great sex pistols cover that holds up.
A truly amazing album by Megadeth once again. -
Highly recommend if you can find a clean copy for a good price. Never heard this album sound better.

Edited one year agoListening to a US vinyl copy of this album made in 1988 is probably the only way to hear it the way it was originally intended to be heard. Every other release of this album that I've heard sounds terrible. This US copy that I have sounds fantastic! It doesn't have the obnoxious, heavy amount of reverb that the original CD release has. There is still plenty of reverb, like many albums made in the 80's, but the wonderful soundstage and instrument separation make the reverb sound pleasant. It doesn't make the instruments sound muffled like it does on the CD. This vinyl pressing also has a great, healthy amount of low-end that's missing on the original, thin-sounding CD. The 2009 vinyl reissue uses the same awful remix that the horrible 2004 CD reissue uses, so avoid that like the plague. I can't be entirely certain that '88 US vinyl copies are the best, since this 2nd US issue is the only vinyl release from 1988 of this album that I own, but copies from other countries aren't made with Direct Metal Mastering, so the US ones probably sound the best out of them all. If you want a physical release of this album, I'd highly recommend avoiding other versions of it, and getting a 1st or 2nd US Vinyl pressing of this great piece of thrash metal history.

Edited 2 years agoMy variant looks different than the others described here. It feels like 180g, has COMBAT on the left side of the label, and the runout is stamped "Mastered by Capitol".
Side A's etching reads: C1 0777-7-48148-1-2-A DCM and what looks like a faint "C 1086" -
Copies with Matrix variant 1 comes with printed inner sleeve.
Copies with Matrix variant 2 comes with plan white jacket. (my copy) -
Edited 4 years agoHi I need help. I have a run out that looks similar to this. I have not found anything that matches. Reading from the inside to the outside:
⊙1-1-48148-Z1 DMM PRECISION SPO-1 SM1-1 B-29864-Z1-DMM ON Δ19035 (Scratched out 2-2) AR-SP
Does not have "Combat" on the black labels. On the side 2 label "A" and "T" are a stamped with the hole between the letters. -
