Notes
SLINT is a band from Louisville, Kentucky. 'Tweez' was its first recording, released in 1989. This version is the tweethan mix, created in 2023 and released in 2024.
About the tweethan mix: Per Ethan Buckler (Slint bassist on tweez), “Finally - after thirty-five long years - the other guys in Slint decided to be nice to me and let me have my Tweez remix. I complained incessantly back in the day about how the Albini production style ruined our first recording.” In 2023, Ethan took the original multi-track recordings to a local studio in Louisville. Upon handing the engineer a copy of a pre-tweez Slint practice tape, he said “Make it sound like this.” This tweethan mix album is the result. Mastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service.
Compared to the original release of 'Tweez' the track titles have been renamed as follows:
2. 'The Book' = 'Ron'.
3. 'Paint The Houses' = 'Carol'.
4. 'Ballet School' = 'Nan Ding'.
5. 'Christmas Tree' = 'Kent'.
6. 'Tokens Of Affection' = 'Darlene'.
7. 'New Dave' = 'Pat'.
8. 'Rhoda' = 'Rhoda'.
9. 'Hippie Chick' = 'Warren'.
10. 'Hollow Eyes' = 'Charlotte'.
Noting that the track durations, beginnings and endings of each 'Tweethan Mix' often differ from the 1989 mixes of 'Tweez'.
