RIP Jamie
Keep coming back to music you have unearthed and shared with others.
What a class taste in music did you have
Thank you -
Love it but the last track, 13 - Something in the Air, is not included on the vinyl release, which is annoying.

Great selection of obscure Japanese ambient and a nice tribute to Jamie. As always with MFM the quality of the release is perfect :)

Quite new to ambient, but during covid when I started listening to ambient, its contemporary japanese ambient that catched my ears the most. Quite glad to discover those gems. Package is fine, pressing is perfect !

does anyone know if there will be a japanese issue for this release like the previous two in the series?

FWIW, snagged a copy with the OBI via Vancouver BC’s very own Audiophile. Stoked to have struck upon this treasure as I chart the journey ad astra, fortuitously guided by esoteric ambient waves.

Edited 6 months agoA LOT of electronic music from the 90s still remains uncharted territory for me. Back in the day, before music file sharing, or even online record shops, You really had to go an extra mile (and a couple more) to discover music like this. It was an interesting time - the output of producers was substantial, but the bandwidth for getting it to the people was relatively narrow.
This compilation is a perfect example of this vast ocean of musical discovery. I was aware of Ken Ishii and Sublime Records via his releases on R&S, but most of these artists are new to me. The insert with liner notes is great and It encourages You to dig deeper into various label catalogues, artist connections and collaborations, etc. So this is just a starting point for a lot of great discoveries for everyone who is into 90s electronica.
Sonically the tracks have all a very good presentation here, pressing sounds very good, no disappointments here.
PS. I couldnt care less but some people definitely do: the image suggest theres’s a OBI strip. I had a brand new sealed copy and there is no sign of that.
