This is a bad pressing. A lot of distorsion. I think all the 2024 Iron Maiden re-releases are of bad quality, but this is real bad.

Edited 3 months agoThe instruments sound great but the vocals could do with being slightly higher in the mix. A minor criticism. Great album! Up The Irons 🤘🏼

Edited 3 months agoI don’t know why but it feels like my right speaker turned off. I never had this issue with other records. But I was really joyful when I saw the cover irl! So many details on the characters and background. Work of art

People who spend time analysing Iton Maiden records in audiophile sound quality dont get it. This kinda stuff was recorded flatly in the first place and is a million miles off audiophile demo stuff and by design is wasted on high end systems. The good thing about this pressing is theres no distortions baked in and the vinyl is flat and quiet. This makes for an enjoyable pressing as long as you accept the inherently mediocre recording qualities of an otherwise superb slice of heavy metal music+

In my opinion, the record sounds great for a modern release (considering how terrible quality control is these days and the junk they sometimes sell). I can’t compare it to older editions, but I’m happy with this copy. It sounds clean and without any crackles. 666.

No mudd sound here. I have the OGs, 2014 release, and this one. The vinyl is flat, no issues with pops. It is 2dB lower in overall volume than the 2014 release, though the 2014 has variable volume between songs (inner groove one's). I find both 2014 and this 2024 sounding really good. This 2024 Chris Bellman (CB) has compensated volume using a more safe groove spacing than the 2014 one. The deadwax is a tad wider than the other pressings. This pressing is really cheap compared to other new releases, and I can only say this; it is a steal. Highly recommended!

Haven't compared with the 2014 release, but I was let down by how this sounded. Found it to have a muddled sound, not very dynamic, nor particularly well separated in instrumentation. I'd say those who haven't found a good recent release of this already not-stellar-sounding album won't get their socks blown off by Chris Bellman on this one, either.
On the other hand, while it isn't a gatefold, the cover art and the labels are pretty damn good. The pressing itself is pretty silent and clean from the get-go, so there's that.
