Just bought this from the italian Amazon web site for 21.92. I believe it won't last long at this price.

Well, I'm usually a fan of improvisation, drone, noise and musical adventure and I thoroughly enjoyed Live In Stuttgart (as of course many other Can releases) but ten minutes from the end of Side Three I just thought 'ENOUGH'. Lazy, indulgent, dumb and not even with any discernable attitude, just brainless filling of time and space with pointless fingerwiggling on musical instruments. This lot are taking me for a 'ride'....ha ha ever had the feeling you been cheated?? said Lydon many many years ago (and btw, I LOVE PiL!). Yeah John, right now. I do.
The first record in DECADES where I had to abandoned listening and lift the needle. Sorry folks.
Obligatory mention for the pressing quality. My copy was washed it goes without saying. Nevertheless a clean listen and good quality vinyl. I happen to like the artwork, but hey. I'll probably sell this on soon.

Edited one year agoSpoon I’m trying to figure out. The Lost Tapes version was recorded 1972 according to the info on TLT’S. This version from the Paris gig is listed as 1973. They sound so similar even though the Lost Tapes version has the better sonics. Go figure!

Exceptional music, wonderful sound quality. I am disappointed with about everything else: the non-gatefold sleeve, meandering liner notes that inanely name-check Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran while decrying the need for liner notes in the first place.
Once again, I am puzzled by the inconsistencies within this series. The first two releases had colored sleeves, the second two did not. The first three were colored vinyl to match packaging, this one is not (I prefer black vinyl, but this is a strange move for an established series). -
Edited one year agoMore meandering improv jams with Damo free styling over the top this time. The recognisable numbers Spoon and Vitamin C are pretty decent though. Why don't they name the tracks? Getting a bit fed up with this series, I suppose you had to be there with Can live to fully appreciate the occasions...and don't get me started on the artwork!

Easily the best from these official Can live releases since 2021, after the rather disappointing "Live in Cuxhaven" . Sound is in mono, but very good, significantly better than on previous bootlegs. Just one little oddness : "Spoon" has a slightly better sound on "The lost tapes", especially at the beginning.
