This one is not bad it's just not necessary. As Bradx mentions, the experiments have been toned down leading to a little less of interest. I would almost never reach for this when the earlier stuff is available to me. -
Chrome's last really great record imo. The riff is fantastic, like the ultimate Hawkwind riff.... repeating for infinity. I love early Chrome - the music's never been bettered or sured. But the intensity of the first 4 albums couldn't be maintained and gradually the fierce experiments, the unbelievable diversity was diluted into a much more simplistic and routine rock sound.
Get the first 4 albums and the Read Only Memory 12" (and Danger Zone) and you will have a collection of the most vital and futuristic post-punk ever made.
