This is a fantastic album which I didn't know and bought because I wanted to have an Elvin Jones in a tone poet pressing. I am delighted I did!
I'm just listening to it for the second time in a row, there's so much going on, little details, fascinating (poly)rhythms, and a quality of sound that puts a smile on my face and soundtracks a hot evening in Lisbon. Sometimes life can be this simple! -
Incredible rhythms and grooves, the pressing matches the music quality too. Top material that’s adventurous and fun to listen to.

Amazing music and very good quality, dynamic and silent pressing. Jacket is top quality. One of the best quality Tone Poets I have heard
Highly recommended -
Very warm sound, big soundstage and great dynamics. Almost zero surface noise, no distracting clicks or pops detected. If I really have to be picky, my copy has a very slight waviness, almost imperceptible using a good clamp.
As always, high quality jacket (...that don't fit in standard outer sleeves). -
Edited one year agoSounds fantastic. Bit different but awesome playing. One of my fave tone poets for sure. Great pres there with the best tone poet pressings I have, particularly the horns.

this reord sounds fantastic, and the print job on the front of the jacket is awful. they darkened the pic, and you cant see mr jones face.

Edited one year agoTerrific pressing (I assume the original tapes are still in decent condition), rewards multiple listenings because there's so much going on here. Excellent packaging for this release as well. I think "Mr. Jones" is my favorite track on this album; Jones' wife Keiko is credited with creating that track, which makes me want to listen to more of her compositions!

Not sure I can say what hasn’t already been said but this album sounds amazing. I’m a big Elvin Jones fan and was really excited when the 2024 Tone Poet list dropped last year. Totally worth the wait. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy.

IMPRESSIVE Pressing.
I've got about 15 albums from Tone Poet Series. All are Excellent but this one is easily on the Top3.
Great precision on all the details, mix is precise. Sound is deep and crystal clear, The relief is fantastic, Bass is loud and clear.
This pressing is erectile !

Edited one year agoMight be the best sounding Tone Poet album I've purchased and that's saying something. Stunning.
