Im way late to the party but I got this opening day, I did comparison between the OG’s and these copies and I found these copies to be much superior.
As everyone has said below, these albums simply need Remixes. -

For anyone that loves For Unlawful, the deluxe version that was recently released blows away the version in this box set. -
So flipping good! Love the Sammy years and DLR as well. I have all the DNL vinyl individually so they are not the remastered versions but i will say these Sammy vinyls sound great! My pressing is perfect on all of them. I didn’t feel there was much difference with my original 5150 but I will playback the new one more because it is a newer press with less wear. I highly recommend this set. Excellent! -
Overall a good mix for most albums. Right channel distortion on For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge is a big disappointment. Packaging is also rather cheap and nothing like the high quality of the DLR 2015 remasters. -
Does anyone have issues with Balance? I get a ton of clipping/distortion sounds, especially on Aftershock. Washed the record and put in an anti-static sleeve.
Such a bummer!! -
A store I went to was selling the albums individually from this box, so I bought Balance. Is there an entry for each album within the box? I mean these pressings. I don't wanna add the box because I don't have the box. I guess I could've bought the box, but I really only like Balance...ah well.

WB responded to my issue about For Unlawful's distortion issues. Their reply.
"Thank you for ing us regarding the Van Halen THE COLLECTION II (5LP).
We have been advised the following, regarding the For Unlawful Carnage LP:
the original production on this LP was compressed & distorted by design
any audio anomalies are inherent to the original production & not a result of the reissue pressing
