Edited 11 days agoThere are three records at home, this one from 2023, the original from 1991 and (I completely forgot about 2010). I like the sound of 2023- the midrange is very clear and the barrel also sounds better - it plays great on the new Dynaudio monitors. But on the old CELESTION S6 (I have a small listening room), the upper frequencies of the original sound magically - I like this Swedish sound- it gives me the creeps. Both are good, this press has its advantages, but most people will always say, "it used to be better."

My copy does have the constant hiss on the right channel. On both sides, pretty noticable between tracks. Looks good but that is really major fuck up sadly.
-
I've got two copies and both are flat and sound excellent. Not sure about the hiss discussed here below. Mail me if you want one of my flawless copies.
-
Took a gamble on a cheap $15 sealed copy and it has none of the audio issues!
However the universe sought to balance things out & I immediately dropped on the floor, which crushed a corner of the record jacket. -

My copy sounds and looks immaculate. Glad to have this and other Dismember records due to the recent reissues.

Edited 8 months agoThis one hisses like a mother******, sometimes you can hear it through the music, not for headphone-listening. And as a few others have said, my copy is also slightly bowl-shaped, 2.5 mm at the worst place. At least the stylus will wear equally on both flanks if you play both sides of the lp, and I do, despite all this, although I have a cd reissue. I've got to find a Planax clamp to bite the Technics spindle.
Edit: It's such a shame that this kind of crap has become able since the vinyl record stopped being a mass market item. This was simply unacceptable in the old days, you never hear imperfections that happened in the manufacturing process on old records. I would've returned this if I had bought this locally. This pressing should have been shredded. -
Surface noise is audible on right channel, sometimes gone and sometimes you can hear it clearly, the best advice is to turn it full volume so the guitars can cover it
