Ghost (32) – Extended Impera

Lovely boxset. Despite what anyone else says. I will say though my Impera has two B. Side sticker (no A. Side but was pressed with an A. Side) so there's definitely some quality control issues

This version of the box set is a little more stripped down compared to the US version. For example the light feature isn't present in the gatefold for the Impera album. Also the wax seal kit that is in the US box is not here either. In my opinion these are not necessary additions and it really doesn't hurt the box set at all. I see it as you pay less money for less fluff. Although if you like that sort of stuff go for the more expensive box. I prefer the regular gatefold that is featured in this Scandinavian version compared to the light-up gatefold that just mirrors the outer cover of the regular version with some "3D" effects. I like the coloured vinyl in this set more too, The blue vinyl for Impera and Live at the Ministry and the Phantomime EP and also the orange vinyl for the 10 inch single are stunning. The sound is amazing on all the records and they are also dead quiet.The etchings are really pretty but you're gonna look at them once and then you're gonna get back to playing the records. I think etchings are so unnecessary and it would have been cooler to get additional live recordings or studio outtakes instead of just an etching on the b-side. I like the 3 photo cards that are included, very high quality images on good quality card. Also the booklet with the artwork for each song is stunning and a great addition. Although I would have liked it if it was stuck inside the gatefold for Impera like previous pressing of other Ghost albums. One major downside to this box set compared to the US one is that this one doesn't include the photo book with all the live shots from the Impera tour. If you compare how much cheaper the Scandinavian version is compared to the US version then I think you will find that there is a lot more value for money in the Scandinavian box. The US box is so overpriced and you don't get that much more stuff in it. I would highly recommend buying this one over the US one. All and all it's a great box set that I'm really happy to own.

Super pretty boxset, all sounds really nice!! A thing I noticed though is that phantomine is actually played at 45 rpm in comparison to my indies exclusive that’s played at 33!

needs a Cd version or at least a deluxe imperia version with the pantomime ep included

Still available across online shops. This is the first box set, or probably the first Ghost limited release ever that was not sold out just mere hours/day after the pre-order was announced. I might be wrong, but to me, it speaks volumes. I think it's downhill from here. Ghost is getting poppier and more repetitive in of music and they release too many limited colour vinyl variants which itself cancels the idea of limited editions.
