Someone knows if 5th bluray disk is supposed to play on a standard CD player ? Mine doesn't and I don't know if it should? Or not...quite frustrated...
-
Edited one year agoDavid Bowie IS singing on the two versions of 'Rupert The Riley'.
Just not lead vocals.
Lovely cardboard in the v. nice glossy book.
Wish they'd spent the time and effort cleaning up the demos.
And put it in a clamshell box.
-
Ok not impressive, most of the stuff is on bootlegs on same if not as uncompressed audio .Nice ones are the demos in better quality than the scratchy acetate versions previously available.
Shame they couldn't secure the Glastonbury tape.! And incidently is the 'All the Men' fragment on the Japanese boot of 'Aylesbury 71'from the San Francosico tape? -

dear fan :
I would be happy to know if the concert in this box set :
" Live Friars, Aylesbury, 25th September, 1971 " : CD 3 : Track 8 to 23
is a soundboard recording ?
Many Thanks ! ; ) -

What an amazing release; really beautifully done. Great to hear this wonderful album taking shape. Of course it would have been great to have everything on vinyl but the coming ‘best of’ vinyl release is also cool. Bit like the Plastic Ono Band releases, which are also superb.

Edited 2 years agoThe sound on the Live Friars, Aylesbury, 25th September, 1971 show on CD 3 is awful.
Of the BOWPROMO Mixes on CD 4, the track "It Ain't Easy," which comes between "Kooks" and
"Queen Bitch" on the original vinyl David Bowie / Dana Gillespie - David Bowie / Dana Gillespie,
is missing.
And why isn't Rupert the Riley in this set?
