Production is gorgeous, be it the sparseness of Seedy Films or the frenzied layers of Sex Dwarf (which is possibly the best song ever written). This pressing sounds incredible.

It's been over 30 years since I've listened to this album. It holds up extremely well. I had forgotten how much I LOVE Soft Cell. I knew I liked them, but had forgotten I loved them.

First, Marc Almond's voice is amazing. Even songs that with another artist would be boring, his voice holds you and entices you to listen deeply to the lyrics he is singing. The result is an album where every song is worth listening to and feeling too.

Several of the songs were hits. Tainted Love, Sex Dwarf for example. The album ending with Say Hello, Wave Goodbye, is just - very satisfying.

        Great album.

Marc Almond sang "Youth has gone, but somehow I don't really mind" and "Chips on my shoulder, more as I get older" at age 24?! WTF!

if you turn the back of the cover 90° to the right, the sign on the bottom right looks like sausages on a grill

It would appear that I'm the only person here that doesn't think Non stop erotic cabaret is Soft Cell's best album!

A seemingly concept album with two main concepts, 'social anxiety' and 'deviant sexuality'. Just in the first three tracks, the album takes us from having a mid-life crisis ("Frustration"), to a failed relationship ("Tainted Love"), to going downtown to the Red Light District, going to porno theaters and other classy things. David Ball's extremely talented layered synth melodies hook you in and go perfectly with Marc Almond's varied singing. The album produced the infamous "Sex Dwarf" track, about Hardcore BDSM, with an appropriate video that was seized by authorities. This incident was parodied in their video album "Non-Stop Exotic Video Show", where they recounted the incident and made a new Sex Dwarf video that was purposfully terrible and pointless.

A complete and utter Synthpop classic

I just listened to this album for the first time less than a month ago and had to get it. I've owned the singles collection for more than a decade, but I had no idea this album was so amazing! I read that only two synths were used, but they must have used them well, because this sounds WAY ahead of it's time. I can't wait to check out the other Soft Cell albums.
