I am doubting the release year of 1967. It has the Transamerica Corporation logo on the back cover beneath the Blue Note Records logo, so I'm guessing this is probably a 1968 pressing since that's when they got involved with Liberty/UA. It has an earlier catalog number from the Liberty takeover from Blue Note, but I'm wondering if that got assigned then it was held from release for a bit.

Normally I’d write about the sound of the mastering and pressing, but this time on this particular dusty release I’m just going to say that THIS album in one of the most badass Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers albums I’ve ever heard. I’d love a M/M or a audiophile pressing, but until then I’ll enjoy this wicked one I have on hand.

Who wouldn't take a chance on any album by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers found in a $1 bin at a local used record store? I did with "Witch Doctor." Took this gem home, cleaned it, and played it. WOW! I was blown away with the quality of sound coming from that Lp. Recorded in 1961 but released in 1967 during the Liberty era of Blue Note. The Classic Line up for the Messengers of Morgan, Shorter, Merritt, Timmons, and Blakey, drove these compositions 90 miles an hour and you hear every note! If you come across this album buy it! It's Hot Baby! It's Hot!
