what a letdown this is. I thought we were going to hear a decent copy of Rat Patrol at last but we get the shitty b sides and some crowd noise from outside Bonds.

Edited 2 years agoSmashed ant on my copy. Smashed grooves. 55 bucks and while a decent quiet pressing the smashed grooves, several record cleanings did nothing and my original copy holds serious weight. 180gram doesn't mean deep grooves pressing. In fact if a few smashed storage or stuffed in on jacket does this to a record that tells mebthe plates or pressure was piss poor and extremely dirty. A rushed job. Sony, real cheap, real phoney. My only other record with simbilance is another from master tape Sony pressing from last year. I was disappointed. Its not better that my 82 2nd round pressing. It is just not. Its going back, and I'm keeping the poster.

Firstly, whilst it's a great package, why do record companies still put the records in cardboard sleeves. My first job was to remove them, clean and replace the sleeves with decent lined sleeves. The pressing is pretty good, although due to the cardboard sleeves the vinyl is covered in very fine scratches. These don't appear to impact the music but still annoying. Musically the album is great, memories of my youth. Worth a purchase but replace those sleeves!!

Sounds very good. Don't quite understand why they didn't fill the last side with the Ranking Roger versions though or The Mustapha Dance and Casbah 7" version. Or at least a Clash star logo etching (and I'm no etching fan).

Edited 3 years agoThe packaging is not the best imo, but was awaitable. I spended some poly-lined sleeves and now there´s no place for the original sleeves in the package anymore. But it´s no problem - I put them on the back of the record together with the poster and left the shrink on the album itself to avoid scratches + extra protective sleeve - done. Listened to the album the pressing seems to be very good and quiet and has a very pleasing sound-quality. I recommend to get a vinyl-grabber for this one, because the vinyls sit pretty tough in that sleeves.

All I can say is that this is the best version out there bar none so much separation between instruments the guitars aren't as bright as other pressing I've heard recently and the bass is deeper lower and more pronounced
I highly recommend buying this
you won't be disappointed definitely crankable I have the EU pressing
I did a shootout with the 2013 remastered by Chris Bellman and it's miles ahead
The bonus discs are pretty cool too -
Haven't spun it yet because man my copy is dirty. Don't think I've ever seen a new record look so bad.
