This is a superb sounding release I have been waiting for this album to be released again on vinyl for 30 years, I am glad I was able to get this not easy to find here in the US. But why is nobody talking the amazing version of when the crowds are gone on the bonus record?

My copy has some surface noise, but generally it is not that bad. I love the packaging, Savatage have done a really great job.

My album is great. No surface noise. Sound quality is great as well.

I’m very pleased with this LP, sounds fantastic without any noise. Haven’t done any comparison to the original copy but as I listened to this album so many times over 30 years,
I have to say it’s very well done here.

I received this today in the mail, and I spent the morning listening back to back with my original US release. This is probably the best sounding of the remasters, although that isn’t saying much. There is definitely a difference between the original and remaster, since this still has the signs of a bad mastering (brick walled sound, drums are too quiet). But the difference here is far less than the others up to this point. Dare I almost say this was “tastefully” done to appease the execs at the record company? Hopefully the remasters continue the upward trend from here on, since this is the first one that I think is decent and worth revisiting in the future.

I was worried after the abysmal sound on the "Mountain King" re-release, but this actually sounds great, and the packaging, the huge booklet, and the liner notes are glorious. I'm confused by the serious variance in quality between these releases.
