My pressing is noisy. And for such a beautiful album, it’s not very dynamic. It’s pressed too quiet.

I’m honestly shocked by the reviews here because my copy sounds legitimately incredible. Maybe the later pressings were worse - I got this the day it came out. Perfectly centered, pretty quiet, great imaging and dynamics on my (pretty high end) system.

Quite disappointed, agree with the rest below. Sounds flat but the pops in the last 15 ish sec of coconut decided for me to hand it back

I have the Canadian repress (not sure what year), and there is black hype sticker on the upper right corner that says "The critically acclaimed debut solo album from Karin Dreijer of The Knife. Featuring "If I Had A Heart" (Vikings Theme Song) and "When I Grow Up." This repress also has a small "Made in Canada" sticker on the back. I will add photos soon.

Idk what most of you guys are talking about. My copy sounds pretty great. There's no issue with compression. There's no off-center pressing. Only negative is that the locked grooves at the end of each side of the album have no fill and pop really loudly until you lift the needle. Some of that popping starts at the last like 15 seconds of Coconut.

i did not read reviews before bought this. i've just started collecting vinyls a year ago, i didn't think there is such thing like this. this press sounds really flat, quiet and distant. it reminds me of the pirate tape copy's of the nineties. don't buy this, people say there is a better release.

I did feel like my copy was also a bit disappointing. For such a dynamic album overall, this landed quite flat.

I’m rarely disappointed enough to comment, but this is one of the least dynamic pressings I own. Dull, lifeless, and distant, even after cranking it. Like an old lady’s quilt is draped over the speaker. That’s even after I used a knife to scrape off the paper embedded in the run-in. I was really looking forward to this after seeing it was repressed in Canada. My opinion of course, but stay away. Just stick with the CD.

Edited 3 years agoI just bought the repress that was made in Canada. It doesn't have the various surface-noise issues that others have reported about the original pressing. There was a touch of noise at the beginning of each side, but then it was pretty quiet the rest of the way. (That's after vacuum cleaning before playing.) Even though surface noise isn't a problem, I think the mastering is mediocre. It's mixed very quiet--I literally turned my speakers all the way up and still wasn't satisfied--and isn't especially dynamic. I hope we eventually get a remix that does this work of genius the justice it deserves, but if you absolutely need to own this on wax, this reissue will likely suffice until that hoped-for version materializes.

This has been repressed in Canada using the old metal parts from this Rainbo pressing/cut. There are no identifiers on the sleeve, labels, or runouts that point to exactly where, but the pressing rings are different and point to Precision. My copy's surfaces were noticeably free of non-fill which itself is a marked improvement over the 2009 Rainbo pressing.
