Edited 12 years agoProbably my favorite Steve Roach album. Each song is relaxing and generally promotes calm. Steve Roach is truly a master of ambient music.

In Steve Roach's sound this album is a marked break away from the high energy he was known for. I'd guess with my fractured history Reflections in Suspension is the break. A slow to develop in a sparkly star kind of way crest of sound that shimmers and ebbs. The rest of the album is nowhere near as shimmering in it's sound. The pace drops to the waves of sound washing over that we've come to know. Quiet Friend is my personal favorite here in that it's like two chapters. Structures from Silence can be left on repeat as a room of sound to enter and leave at your discretion. It's representitive of itself in that if you choose to participate with the piece at any particular minute you'll understand the overall work.
I've had it forever and is one of those albums I still come back and listen to.
