I really can't decide on my favourite AE LP.
Maybe if you put them into phases then 3 or 4 could be highlighted?

    1. Amber.
    2.Chiastic Slide.
    3.Draft.
    4.Over Steps.
    5.NTS Sessions.
    6. Sign.

Unpopular opinion, but I think this is possibly my favourite Autechre album (either this or Exai). Dirty, mechanical rhythms from a dystopian, industrial future relentlessly churn away, while dark storm clouds of synth pads slowly creep their way overhead, mixing with the black fumes that fill the skies. Utterly hypnotic.

In Scandinavia "Pule" is a very well known slang word for copulation, just a coincidence?

Come on, Warp! You reissued their first three albums, let's get to the rest!

When listening to this, it takes me back to a simpler, happier time. At times, free floating in space. In others, in electrical distribution centers. It is difficult to not imagine yourself in between dimensions when listening to this album. Like travelling between folds of time/space.

Something I never see mentioned about this record is that if you take the records out of the sleeve and have a peak inside the sleeve there is extra printing/artwork.

The copy I have, on the A side label, on the top it reads 'CIPATER.RETTIC AC. TEWE'
whereas I noticed the scan of the one on here it says 'CIPATER.AUTECHRE. CHI'
Was there an error on some of the Side A labels then? Small but interesting detail.

Definitely a watershed album. The melodic elements of Amber and Garbage increasingly taking second stage to a more gutsy industrial aesthetic. But, this isn't to say the album is a relentless pounder. Many of the tracks here set a beautiful, although sombre tone.

I prefer to think of Chiastic slide as an album of requiems... put through a mincer.

This is one of my favourite autechre's piece. It's really beautiful, even the noise is sooooo sweet and it keeps driving me all the time. This album takes time to understand, but it's really worth the effort

After 3 fantastic albums on this label there is another great one with more melodic elements. One of the most important artists for the music scene I know.
