Edited 7 years agoI consider this their come-back album to real Metal though still a bit Slayeresque ...but what the hell... The Haunted always will be the worst Slayer rip offs anyway...to all that knows Slayer by heart like me (and we are many)...
Which gets even worse on the next effort Inferno which is why I'm skipping that review, it's almost like they decided to do it on purpose, the Reign in Blood/South of Heaven riff style just like the beforementioned The Haunted, I heard three songs of one of their albums and immediately thought "Slayer clones" which is a bad omen and also why I don't own one album by them...
This is actually more Thrash based on hardcore which began with the last album and perhaps that's why I cannot help liking it growing up with that genre as my favorite, and people like Napalm Death or Pestilence always did my personal fav style of DM better. That's the best with this record, the worst...the misspelling of afraid as affraid on several places...then it's time to get a Dictionary, said the translator (there's even free ones online).
If you forget the three albums before Uprising (when every band seemed to forget about metal ca 93-98); with that one and this one as their Millennium restart, then their career is pretty good...
