Jacket made in England (and is the same cover used on the UK pressing).

From a sticker on the shrinkwrap:
"The third album. Not produced by anyone famous. It doesn't sound very American, and it is not particularly sincere. David says it's 16 tracks of blazing duck decoy music. Stay away from lakes."

Plating company derived from runouts.

I found out about Camper Van Beethoven last week in the comment section of a YouTube video about The Minutemen. I'm 49 years old and still discovering great music from the 80's. What a time to be alive :-)

The first pressing is also on root beer brown Quiex. For those unfamiliar, backlight your record and see if it shows up as translucent brown. It looks like normal black vinyl under normal light.

Not really Self-Titled. The title is “Soviet Spies Swim Upstream Disguised as Trout”

"What we did do was give the album a title that no one could find. Unless you were looking very closely. The album does have a title. The title is “Soviet Spies Swim Upstream Disguised as Trout” It’s right there in the liner notes. And on etched in the inner groove of the first run of vinyl. We titled it this way because we had an obsessive fan that would write us nearly everyday. In one of the letters she (?) said she dreamed the next Camper Van Beethoven album was titled “Soviet Spies Swim Upstream Disguised as Trout”. et voila."
