FKA Twigs – Magdalene

Great album, great mastering. Helps that Twigs has one of the most refined sounds regardless of medium. Sadly this is a mediocre pressing with persistent low level ticks that are more apparent when playing loud. After a good amount of plays and a flew RCM washes my copy is tolerable but this is really not worth the inflated price over the standard issue imo, I only have it because that’s all they sold upon release.

Thousand Eyes has so much surface noise, it’s ridiculous. The rest of side one plays pretty well with minimal cracks and pops. Side 2 sounds pretty good.

There is some surface noise, but the whole record sounds very rich. Listening to this album on vinyl gives you a whole different experience.

the dynamics and sound of this is amazing, i can hear many sounds not prevalent in the digital version, yet there are pops and crackles all over the place? i think i would rather have the plain black version

Mine had popping and noise all over the place, at seemingly random intervals. Is anyone else having this issue?
That being said, the mixing itself sounds incredible, it just seems like a pretty bad pressing

I love love love this album, but having said that I find my red pressing of it to have some very clear surface noise issues. Not enough to keep me from playing it, but you might want to take it into consideration.

As a big fan of FKA Twigs, I was worried when this album was announced. This is because my mam, who is very religious, often finds releases such as these besmirching of the Good Lord’s name, and will not allow me to play them lest they corrupt our household with their blasphemous filth. But I needn’t of worried, as after just one listen, my mam is now hailing this album “Magdalene” as a masterpiece. She is even now talking, about going to see FKA Twigs play live, as she sees this as a great opportunity to spread the word of God, and help to deliver many young music fans from the evil clutches of Satan!!

Nice album, beautiful artwork. Red pressing plays pretty quietly. The liner note's complete lyrics have many typos.
+ Lopatin and FKA's "daybed" is incredible.

Absolutely loving this. What a clever lady twigs is. The pressing is pretty good revealing the dramatic production. Not surface noise or clicks on my Red Vinyl copy.
