Also had the sticky frosting surface on both discs on the playing surface. I used windex (or glassex here in The Netherlands) and it took it right off, the discs look like new again.

Edited 2 years agoThe discs get a sticky frost like surface design. I suspect it is from the laminate they used on the sleeve, as I recall this disc having a strong odor when it was new. Left uncleaned, it does eventually leave a kind of etching. I have noticed other CD's from that era with that same type of shiny laminate also having similar issues. It can be cleaned using alcohol. It won't look perfect but it will be playable, I suggest making a backup copy when it is clean. Thankfully it is on the playing surface and not on the aluminum layer, so it could be resurfaced, unlike bronzing which makes the disc unplayable.

Edited 2 years agoYes this Edition suffer from disc rot. They used a wrong ink or anything else on the Disc, Booklet or Digi-Pack which let the layer begin to rot. There are many other Discs and Publishers with such problems. You can read a lot about it if you search for disc rot in the web.

Same problem here. Disc 1 was terrible, Disc 2 not so bad. Today I cleaned both discs with HG screen cleaner (HG beeldscherm reiniger). It worked quite well, but Disc 1 is still somewhat cloudy. I have no clue what it is, maybe some kind of oxidation process. After cleaning they look quite good, I have to say, much better than I hoped for, but I still want to replace the discs. Sleeve Condition is Mint, I don't like the idea of those strange cloudy discs, even if I don't need to play them. The question is: are there good ones to be found? Anyone?

Anyone else have pressing issues with Disc 2? Both of my copies have a "cloudy" look to them and have problems playing beyond the 3rd or 4th track. Was this something that was later corrected or did both of my copies just so happen to come from a bad batch?
