The CD release is so stupid. Why put a rechargeable lithium battery without something to recharge it?

Just finished listening to it and i must say it's an absolutely stunning boxset, both the audio quality of the pressing and the unique etching are superb. No issues here. It's a bit annoying to listen because there is only 1 song on each record, sometimes 2, but other than that, It's a must have for any Tool fans.

Agree with so-so album - so much put into this so-so album - sucks compared to Undertow or Aenima - no good groove anywhere on the album lasting more than a minute - packaging WAY over content, don't know how people are suckered into this.....well you know what P.T. Barnum said..........

I love Tool, but i'll never understand why MJK & co don't even bother to release their discography on vinyl: considering how they're religiously worshipped, they could make lots of bucks out of their most devote fans' pockets.

That said, here's a message to all those who proclaim that "my vinyl version on vinyl sounds supa hypa dupa fantastic!": are you aware that (very likely) the master audio of your lovely looking coloured vinyl copy was taken from a cd rip on 16bit , 44.1kHz (if you are lucky!), which means that you hear the same audio of a standard redbook audio CD?
Also, last but not leasr: do you also know that because all these vinyl releases are unofficial, the band won't earn a single cent?
Not only you've been ripped off, you also rip off the band.

This is the only album in my collection that I have to charge every now and then.

Enough time has ed to look back now and call it for what it is. Fear Inoculum is a very good album, very good, not great. It is overworked, overproduced, overthought. That's what happens when you work on an album for this long.Everything is just to perfect in a way. I still find things on Lateralus and 10,000 Days I haven't heard or haven't noticed before whenever I listen to them. On Fear Inoculum I hear the same thing every time, and I think that is the thing that keeps it from greatness for me.

Missing an official vinyl? Well, Maynard does enjoy this trolling, teasing of Tool's fans. And I can understand that. This religious worshiping is worth the despise. You wanted music? There you have it. What else do you want? , this album will never be released on vinyl. I'd bet my neck on that. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised, if one of these days, a statement would be released, that some of those so-called "unofficial" releases were in fact "official". That they were just marked and released as a bootleg to annoy the Tool worshipers. Don't get me wrong, I'd be among the first ones to pre-order the vinyl version (not just Fear Inoculum, everything) once officially announced, but I'm telling you, ain't gonna happen. I have my 24bit/96kHz copy from HDtracks.com and I'm happy with it.

Well continuing below-5/6 seconds rather than 2 seconds on Side C.But Side D sounds great-the drum solo is really crisp and full on.I do not have a top expensive system but this sounds fine as I have already said.

The packaging for this cd is like something that you only think of in a dream. Not in a special, inspiring way, but just a really loopy dream where you buy a cd and take it home and it has a monitor inside the package...lol. Then you wake up and say "what the fuck was that dream?? A tool cd with a monitor in the package??", and end up never thinking about the dream again.
