Looking for the best pressing of this album, is this the one?

Just compared this with the MoFi SACD, and it's clear that this mastering puts additional emphasis on Dylan's vocal and guitar, rather than the backing instrumentation, while the SACD brings the other instruments up to a comparable volume to match the vocals. Which makes this release's version of "Idiot Wind" cut like a knife, without sounding shrill, while "Tangled Up In Blue"'s chiming guitar harmonics are pushed to the background.
Oh, and the SACD curiously does not mute the sound of the leader tape between songs.

Its hard to believe this hasnt sold out and isnt commanding silly prices. To think the Santana Abraxas 1Step commands silly fees as such while arguably being inferior in some aspects to its 2008 33rpm counterpart makes it furthermore so.

This one is INCREDIBLE. It walks the 33rpm edition and then some.... bass impact, clarity, soundstage and air, dynamics and sheer signal to noise.... off the charts good and it takes about 10 seconds of A/B to FEEL THIS! If only they were always this definitive, but sadly not all the 1Steps have been. Oh well like the Abraxas proves, theres plenty who will pay through the anal cavity for unwanted 1Steps!!!

The downside for me would be the packaging which sucks when a lovely tip on gatefold is more than enough to do justice to the album.

Just incredible. Grew up with the record but have never experienced it quite like this. Night and day difference compared to the standard Mofi 33.

Funny how the only negative reviews pop up after MoFi Gate. This version is definitive and offers an amazing listening experience. Easily the best sound version of this album and worth every penny you’ll pay for it. And no, it doesn’t “sound digital” …lol

Wanted to love this but not the case. I keep chasing the perfect BOTT and was hoping this was it. I think I have just about every US pressing of this classic. My sealed copy was incredibly filthy upon first glance. Even had some glue or some other sticky candy-like substance on the opening track. Wet cleaned both LP’s and found a measure of improvement eliminating clicks and pops. Sonically it seems to lack any brightness. After making EQ adjustments it is a very listenable pressing but not the “Go To” copy I was hoping I finally found. For the money it’s somewhat of a disappointment. I gave it 4 stars because there’s no 3.5 button.

Yes, this record has it all except sound stage depth. In that department it has none. Despite all the fidelity, it sounds dimensionally flat and left me disappointed. The Absolute Analogue pressing from 1998 is still a better listen. I'm glad everybody loves this because I can sell mine, doubt I'll listen to it again

This is the Best Mastering and Pressing of this masterpiece from Bob. He is in the room with you strumming a guitar . Such an amazing soundscape.
