I have the Quadrophonic version, same catalog number - which looks like this, but the gatefold is printed upside down. Is everyone's like this? Is this the same as the photos in this version or do I have a unique version? Thanks, Scott

I’m going through and playing all my DSOTMs (I have 8 different pressings - UK 2nd, UK 5th (HTM), MFSL, 30th, 50th etc.) Not really a bad pressing among them, although I don’t much like the 50th (but at least it is cheap!) I have to say this Aussie Quad pressing might be my favourite of the lot, this is absolutely mind blowing - even in stereo. I don’t have a Quad amp I only have 4 or 5 Quad discs so not really worth it for me, but I’m going to rig the TT up to my surround sound amp to give Dolby Pro-Logic II or similar a try to see what kind of results I can achieve. Either way this is just phenomenal.

Edited one year agoFinally I get a copy in almost mint condition, definitely, if you don't have an SQ decoder and a system with 4 speakers, run and get one. Yes Iknow everybody it’s talking about The 2024 mix in Dolby Atmos that’s impeccable and ultra clean, but this one has a lot of soul and that authentic little-made-up sound that contrasts with the modern mix, let's say that this one doesn't sound like an Instagram filter

Edited one year agoAs an owner of multiple copies of DSOTM, including the MFSL half-speed mastered, a copy from a small intermediate run between the 1st and 2nd UK pressings, a very early US pressing and a beautiful sounding German pressing (trust me: German pressings are fantastic, very underated), this Australian pressing is i think the best-sounding in my collection. To my ears, and on my system, anyway

I bought this for $25 bucks. It sounded terrible. Now on possibly my 7th clean, and it just keeps getting better! Was going to buy a Japanese pressing but not going to bother. Sounds bloody fantastic. The and clocks...

Save yourself some money and just get this instead of the overpriced UK quad, this sounds exactly the same.

As someone who went deaf as a teenager listening to the CD, the mix here is subtly different and does present a better soundstage than the digital version. Glad I was able to get this.
