Edited one month agoAlthough they did go for a Lo-fi, oldies type sound on the album in general, the mastering quality for this vinyl is terrible. My disc was dirty from a lot of debris that came from the paper inners. Once it was cleaned in the Degritter, I had a beautiful looking record. Unfortunately it doesn’t sound beautiful. Another record that sounds like it was mastered in a tin can. Such a shame for a great album.

Edited one month agoThis pressing is not terrible as everyone says. The album is clearly intentionally noisy and lo-fi to be nostalgic. Vocals come through beautifully with grit. The harmonies on River are killer.

I have this exact pressing and it’s flawless. Surprised I’m in the minority. Feel bad for others. Mine is legit near perfect and my stylus picks up EVERYTHING
TT: Rega Planar 10
Cart: Apheta 3 -
Unlistenable pressing. Surface noise galore even after RCM cleaning. Distortion throughout, no soundstage, muffled vocals and overall boxed in sound. Avoid
Equipment used:
* Rega Planar 6 w/NEO PSU
* Rega Exact cartridge
* Rega Elex-R
* Dali Oberon 5
* Blue Jeans Cables + interconnects

Edited one month agoIs this pressing just another retread from the 2015 versions that sound terrible?
-
Have to agree with the other reviewer here. This is a terrible pressing. An album that deserves much better. Digitally sourced, flat sounding. Not what this kind of perfection needs on vinyl.
-
A great album, but this is a horrible quality pressing. Online streaming of this record sounds better than playing this vinyl. Incredibly disappointing. Maybe I received a flawed copy because I'm surprised to read this has such a high rating from other owners.
