Not the usual production by Jam & Lewis, they seem here well inspired by Thelma Houston, all very cool in an elegant way (not repetitive riffs or too much downtempo as for some S.o.S. band ones), putting this track at the top for this style in that period. I have to be sincere, i used to listen to a lot of records of this genre in radio, clubs or shops at that time but this was a late discover, great.

Boogie canon this one. It has that moody dubby quality of that era of the 80s where synth pads carried the melody while the chord changes and the vocals delivered stacattos. It even features the 80s sax - it definitely checks all the boxes.

And Thelma Houston's singing is a hell of a good one.

Funny she only got a one album deal with MCA..This was really only played at the gay clubs. A few years later this sound would be THE sound.

Agreed, killer on both the vocal and the dub. The opening vocal stabs, that beat, that bassline....

No review? This is a true classic, sampled by 808 State and is an absolute belter! If you find on 12", and its easy to find, buy it, you won't be disappointed!!
