This Malavasi production truly captured Luther Vandross early and as wonderful as his career took off after, in my view, Searching and The glow of Love, r 2 of the best dance compositions he was ever a part of. honorable mention: Luther's lead vocals on Bionic Boogie's "Hot Butterfly" which Chaka Khan made an R&B staple, and a early Luther lp, were he pinned the song, "Funky Music," which remains a serious underground dance classic.

Another great record that could benefit a re-issue. Good vinyl copies especially, are now hard to come by.

Great album, but I feel "Miracles" might be a bit stronger. And don't sleep on the albums after that either.
Also--check out all the other Petrus productions: HIGH FASHION, ZINC, BB & Q, etc.

Fantastic album, and I cannot say anything that has already been said about it, HOWEVER, Why didn't Warner Bros. swap out the edited LP version for the FULL 8:21 version from the promo 12"?

Imho only ITALO DISCO connoisseurs are able to hear this influences and the feelings which came out of italy in the early 80ies. Malavasi, Romani and Gianolio did a great job and made DISCO great again! ;) ITALO DISCO ;)

One of the things that hurt me the most when I get older is seeing how I have been gathering all kind of musical tastes and influences, loving music more and more, but being the only one at that. I find it sad that most of the people that listen to this album are in one of two teams: the ones that love disco soul derived from Chic, and the ones that are fascinated by its proto italo leanings. Well, in my world of unicorns and rainbows I think that the best thing about Change is how both electro italo, italo disco and disco funk live together in the same tracks making this a very international affair that sounds everything but dated and never stops being as catchy as a Harry Warren melody. From "A lover's holiday" to "The End", a wonderful collection of songs. Though, yes, they win a lot when Luther Vandross is heard.
