Sorry but worst album cover ever. Fan of Death Waltz but anxiously awaiting a much better cover choice next time, hopefully. This album cover choice reminds me of Spinal Tap, when they're handed a pure black album cover. The image does not begin to show up in person, as well as it does here, on this entry's images.

Mixed feelings for me on this one. There is/are some surface noise, pops/clicks, and general warbliness, but then again, this release includes the original music from the film (not the re-recorded versions of tracks on the initial release way back when) and there's a certain charm that comes along with knowing that. The lo-fi quality actually works quite well, given that you're in the mood for it.

Also, as many others have mentioned, the cover art really doesn't represent the film at all. Michael Myers standing outside a patio door in the rain? Yeah, never happened in the original film. Odd choice. Still, it does look kinda cool - and certainly it's a different take. Sort of like an alternate version of events.

The LP itself looks pretty bad. I'm not a big splatter fan for vinyl design in the first place, but this is particularly bland. I wish in this case they had just gone with a sold black 180 gram or "Myers Mask White" or something. The album presentation and artwork altogether read as sorta "off-brand". Weird considering that the music itself is arguably the most authentic of any release of this album, since it's sourced from the original reels for the first time.

All in all, depends on which version of this soundtrack you're looking for. I'm overall content with it, but the artwork and vinyl design do leave something to be desired.

Full of pops and clicks galore even after two ultrasonic cleanings. A great-looking album that's irritating to listen to. I have no problem with the sound quality of the music, just the pops and clicks in the vinyl.

This might be a stupid question, but isn’t this release only the music and not the dialogue? I ask because when playing this record I can faintly hear the dialogue in the background. I was just wondering if this is a side effect of dissecting the audio from the dialogue in the original master tapes and remastering, or what the deal is.

Looks great, sounds not great. Pops and clicks galore. Spend the $$$ on the 2013 35th Anniversary release. That's where it is at.

Got mine today. Haven't listened to it yet but there is one glaring omission that no one has mentioned. Where's the directors notes that were included with the other 4 volumes?? Luckily I do have the original Lp which has a nice little piece by John Carpenter himself. Thankfully this will definitely be my last Death Waltz Lp. Like someone else here I've lost the faith......

I loooooove the sound of this. It's exactly as presented in the film, warts and all. Much creepier than the 1983 stereo remix.

My copy sounds great! Looks great, sounds great- only complaint (and this applies to their Halloween 1, 2, 4 & 5 releases) are the sleeves. But that doesn't make much difference for me.
