Edited one year agoYou know there’s a separate listing for the repress. Sellers need to move their new sealed items to that listing. And as far as the 2008 goes, mine sounds fantastic, no surface noise, unlike the represses being reviewed here. So try to find an original 2008! -
Edited one year agoAfter reading the reviews for this pressing I was very hesitant to purchase it, but decided to bite the bullet and see if I could get a good copy. I’m pleased to say the record I got was complete dead quiet with little to no crackle, and absolutely stunning dynamics. I guess I’m in the minority with this but I wanted to leave a comment to say that good copies of this pressing DO exist, and they sound gorgeous. -

Mine sounds beautiful and it is flat, however it is a, b + a, b as opposed to a, b, c, d with disc 2 showing the correct tracks on both sides -
I have what looks to be a repress made at United. Stamped U and WG/NRP in the runouts. Haven't listened to it yet. Anyone else have this?

A mess of a vinyl release. I've gone through 3 copies (the folks at Carpark are very helpful with return requests) and there is a bunch of noise all over this one. A lot of the copies I received had some combination of non-fill, off-centered pressing, or just a lot of non-visible repetitive pops and clicks and surface noise (generally not constant, but some ages heavier than others). Blame to Rainbo.
Also, the vinyl mastering has some issues. There are multiple instances where the frequency distortion on particular instruments/frequency ranges (ex. beggining of A1, A2).
Through 3 copies I was able to cobble a set together with a decent Disc 2 and a cleanish-looking Disc 1, pressed on center but with a good amount of noise (but less than the previous 2 copies). All said, its relatively tolerable if you can get a decent copy (make sure there is an exchange policy or that you can listen to it). The music itself is great, some of my favorite Beach House tracks here.
