Great pressing of what, over the years, has become my favourite of The Boss's albums. The warmth of the vinyl enhances the album's stark production, drawing out every nuance in Springsteen's voice as he channels the struggles of forgotten Americans. Tracks like "Youngstown" and the title track carry a depth that feels almost tangible in analog form.

As everyone already said, great pressing, excellent sound, warm and punchy and detailed. And of course one of Boss’ masterpiece. Don’t hesitate to grab this release, you won’t regret :-)

Lovely sounding, better than the CD, but the pressung quality is one of the worst I have ever whitnessed. Despite of ultrasonic cleaning it has a constant crackling, popping and clicking all over. Its a shame!

Edited 6 years agoMy brand new copy from HMV also has a scratch mark on side 2 across B3 & B4, causing popping across two tracks. I'm gutted because the sound was lovely up to the scratch. Came without a poly lined inner sleeve. I've returned it to HMV for a refund.

Excelent mastering by Chris Bellman and quiet pressing, however there were two visible marks on side one and four on side two. It's a shame that QC is not a priority and damaged records still find their way into the market.

Picked up my copy of this in the UK... was listening, thinking, 'what a nice pressing... very quiet', etc. Unfortunately there's a very visual scratch on Side 2 of my copy, right out of the packaging for the first time! Across half of 'Across The Border'. It's not the end of the world, but it is bullshit business from these record plants and labels that faulty product is able to make it into the marketplace. A shame. Otherwise a good edition.
