Thick and punchy; zero surface noise. IMO, this LP could use a new RM'ing. Song mixes are very uneven, and a lot of tracks sound sludgy. A gorgeous tune like 'divine hammer' seems unnecessarily quiet, with the drums barely audible. Maybe mofi could work some magic here, if they ever decide to emerge from the crust-rock era. -
Any way to tell the difference from this Optimal pressing and the reportedly inferior GZ Media pressing from the outside cover?

Impressed. Great sound! Destroys the CD in of dynamic and detail. My copy is a bit noisy but nothing too bad. It is worth it anyway. Awesome reissue which is not a surprise coming from 4AD.
