Edited 2 months agoGreat album poor cover artwork reproduction (looks photocopied) for this repress sounds great comes with one sided info insert with some pictures and card.

Yep sounds amazing. Good classic earth album which delivers in both dizzying sludginess and cool calm soundscapes at the same time.

Strangely my vinyl copy has the same front cover as the CD (rear wing of the car) and no clear sticker. Bought in 1996 in UK within a week of release, from a proper record shop that don't sell pirates / boots / etc.
Has Printed in Canada logo, came with the black and white insert and coloured CD inlay
pretty sure this isn't a European pressing, at least the sleeve isn't.
hmmmmm??? -
My version doesn't have the hype sticker shown on the left, but it does have the sticker on the top right. I originally thought this was a boot because of the different cover. The cover art doesn't look that great compared to the og CD release. I'm not sure why anyone would make a boot of an unpopular album from a relatively unknown band. That's why I believe this is a legitimate reissue from Sub Pop. It comes with the usual plastic inner sleeve that most Sub Pop releases come with, plus the sound quality is good. Besides the cover, I have no complaints sound wise. Glad I picked this one up!

This thing sounds glorious. Great bass and warm amplifier tones throughout. My copy raises the tone arm up and down ever so slightly, but I've had it for years, moved it a bunch of times, let people borrow it, etc. If you're going to listen to Earth, this is the way to do it. No frills sleeve. Cover art a little sketchy, but then again, early Earth is a little sketchy, so it's all good.

"psychedelic rock, stoner rock, doom metal,"... no mention of drone, so wondering if this is more riff oriented than the previous albums, or is the distorted down-tuned amp drone still the root on this one?
-
Honest 10 years repress that still sounds fine 10 years after, pristine sound though I hadn't the chance to check the 1996 pressing. Even if you aren't much versed into Stoner Rock or Doom Metal you could found it a sweet introduction to the genre.

Edited 10 years agoI also have an original press with a 150 gm sticker.
How to tell which pressing from the cover: Originals have "Printed In Canada" above barcode on the back.
How to tell which version of "Peace In Mississippi": Original vinyl version does not have the "OK, you're rolling" line at the beginning. -
Are there more informations about that release?
My records has a sticker on the shrink "150MG Vinyl Heavy"
But it is defently not the re-issue from 2006, couse I bought that record end of the 90's in Berlin.
Maybe a europe edition? don't know.
