This is a work of art. The record version, sleeve unsured. A tad more understated than some of the bigger hitter albums but worth the poa for slug dub . Heartfelt recommendation -

Stunning album, I would love if a 30 year anniversary vinyl reissue was to come out next year, would definitely grab one if it did! -
Probably one of the best ambient albums ever released. This has so many layers, you can at times nearly loose yourself in it if you sit down and listen, especially with a set of good headphones. I have always liked this album, but I appreciate it more and more over the years. Always sounds fresh, and you can discover new details with each listen. The Orb has paid so much attention to detail that it's a work of art in itself. It makes FSOL's Lifeforms (another favorite of mine) pale, and sound simple in comparison.
It's like flying above and through a glowing, breathing, living fluorescent rain forest on another world that's familiar and similar to ours, but yet so different. -

Probably The Orb's best album, but by 1995 they were no longer press darlings, so sadly the album has got "forgotten" in comparison to their previous output. -

Can anyone confirm if this is the extended version of the album, or one of the slightly edited CD versions? The intro (or lack thereof) of Oxbow Lakes should be a dead giveaway. -
Edited 2 years agoOne of my favorite albums in my collection, I have it as background music when I'm working on my novel, infact, this album inspired a part of my novel. The main character's uncle lives in a huge nature park outside of the city with three different areas of the park, the Valley, Plateau and the Lakes. Was very happy to pick up this CD, the booklet is nice and the packaging is also very nice. While The Orb's previous work conjures images of space, this album keeps it on the surface, and has an earthy sound, I'm not exactly sure why, but it does hehe. Great ambient record, highly recommend.
