Metalheads – Inner City Life

This is like the intelligent listen-to-at-home drum n bass.
People are saying it wasn't played in clubs, but same argument can be made about the Warp electronica series with Autechre, B12 etc. albums. It's more about Sunday morning after-the-rave feelings.
Plus the track isn't even on the Timeless album so if you want it on vinyl, this is a good eco-option if you don't want to buy the 2020s re-releases which include it!

On the doc scott mix I can clearly hear a sample from either terminator or terminator 2

I think it's Linda (Sarah Connor) Hamilton saying: that terminator is out there

Nookie is one of those producers who are just able to hit the nail on the head, I can’t praise him high enough. Not only his uncountable own creations, he wrote more classics than one can count at his different stages between Hardcore and Rave, Jungle and Drum& Bass. And not to speak of his engineering skills for Ray Keith! But another field where he constantly shines are reinterpretations: So many remixes he did where he managed to sur the original, only other artists that managed to do this were Foul Play. Here he took all the best ingredients of Inner City Life, added a thumpin bass and a rolling amen and found just the right balance to make it work in a club environment without forcing it into a ‘dancefloor banger’. I mean, it totally is, of the highest order, but it sounds so natural I even forgot what the other versions sounded like. This is the definite version you need!

I agree with the previous reviews, I put it on Spotify and play it over and over. I knew the vocal track from remixes by Rabbit In The Moon which was a mainstay in the 90's South Florida scene. I only recently discovered this track from my interest in the UK 90's Jungle and Hardcore era. Apparently, Miss Charlamagne ed away a while back of cancer. Her beautiful voice lives on in this track. Rest in peace sweetheart!

Kemistry (Doc Scott Mix) is special, especially due to the story behind the track..sensational.

It’s worth purchasing for this track alone.

Finally a remaster of the Roni Size mix which does justice to this great remix. The stereo mix of the different breakbeats is so beautiful, the synths and vocals are crystal clear. On the original vinyl everything sounds squashed, but here we have sparkling clarity. Thank you!

B1 turned up to tempo 155 to 157 bpm sounds so good, best remix on this record with the hard hitting breaks and kick drum. Glad I found this lil gem

Is the B-Side actually a Peshay Remix? I'm going with no as I can't find any info. Peshay did remix Inner City Life and the white labels of this release show it as Inner City Life (Peshay Remix) with Sea Of Tears on the flip.
