AD1001 (this single) and AD1002 (A Legal Matter) were Exports from the UK to Belgium. -

This is a Belgian picture sleeve that was released with a UK export record on the American Decca Series label. -

Why doesn't Glyn Johns get an engineering credit on this? Just Google "Glyn Johns" + "My Generation" and you'll see several references to him having worked on it. -

hmmmmmmm even though i have most of the south africa who sleeves i am still missing 3 so what confuses me here is why i wrote this review below a couple of years ago, ANYWAY!!!! i got this red decca south africa who 45 TODAY!!!! in the decca company sleeve and this record for well over 50 years ago sounds almost crisp and clear for its age and especially what part of the world it comes from, anyway my copy is the RED DECCA copy as there is a black decca copy as well but i have yet to find that one, the B side to this has out in the street, anyway great catch at a good price, also of the who 60s south africa 45s that did come out with pic sleeves MY GENERATION WAS NOT ONE OF THEM, the first was instant party wich is one of the ones i have so again my review from 2018 confuses me............. -

The record is french. The sleeve is belgian for Benelux and german market only. The sleeve is NOT French. Not at all. -

this is the first italy sleeve for this single, the second printing wich came out the same year in 1965 is much harder to find, that sleeve has the same photo as this sleeve but the second printing has a green sleeve, this one the first printing has this white sleeve, i got this one years ago but im still after the second printing ... -

Is there any clue that this record was pressed in for Belgium market ?
It is doubtful for 3 reasons :
1. The copyright text is written in french
2. BIEM is printed in a rectangle and written in a french way : B.I.E.M. and not BIEM (in a rectangle or not) like German or Belgium pressings of the same era. You can check this on the 2 Who Brunswick french EPs (10668 & 10671)
3. Matrix / Runout :
Runout stamped Side A : O BRU 12968 PPN 2363 380
Runout stamped Side B : O BRU 12968 PPN 2364 380
Check the matrix numbers of the 2 french Brunswick EPs. They are quite similar.
Brunswick 10668 EP :
Rights Society: B.I.E.M. (in a rectangle)
Runout stamped Side A : BRU 10668 PEP 5563 380
Runout stamped Side B : BRU 10668 PEP 5564 380
Brunswick 10671 EP
Rights Society: B.I.E.M. (in a rectangle)
Runout stamped Side A : BRU 10 671 PEP 5947 380 (the 7 is superimposed over a 8)
Runout stamped Side B : BRU 10671 PEP 5948 380
I have found personnally 3 copies of this rare single at flea markets in the south of in the late seventies (without covers).
So, from my point of view, this record was pressed in and sold in and possibly in Belgium.
Take Care. -
Actually, the 2nd pressing with the olive green sleeve should not be shown in the same listing as the white sleeve because the 2nd pressing is much rarer & more expensive to obtain than the white sleeve first pressing, plus could be very confusing to buyers as to which sleeve they are buying.

Beautiful picture sleeve but allegedly pressed in very small quantities back in '65. Therefore extremely hard to find in VG+ or better condition, just as the Dutch A Legal Matter EP and Kids Are Alright single.
