The soundtrack of floating islands in a hazy, half-ed fantasy world of hobbits, crystals, verdant fields and hempire portals. Kris has gone on record (hoho) as being particularly proud of this album and I do feel it's his most emotional work. I don't know if I can do it justice but... FFWD is a truly resonant, melodic, other-wordly experience that is totally unmatched by anything else I've heard at least. Not even trying to engage in hyperbole: there is something absolutely peak about this album, like all heads involved gave absofuckinglutely everything and produced the sound of the other side of the looking glass. Dig around and there is a bootleg out there known as Orbert which is apparently more from the FFWD sessions. -

I've been listening to this record for 30 years and it is truly timeless and unique. I have been a fan of both Fripp and the Orb and this was a dream come true. Pomme Fritz / Orbus Terrarum era Orb magic (my fav time for the Orb) laden with Fripp's by then perfected soundscape guitar work. Psychedelic madness with times of pure bliss, rugged dub and Orb's trademark sampling - There really isn't anything like this out there. -

s up the dots between KLF ‘Chill out’ and ‘Space’ albums and tearly Orb like ‘Huge ever growing…’ ‘Little Fluffy Clouds’ with its improvised collage/patchwork approach with Fripp’s guitar added. Just got one off the bay for £35 so no need to pay daft prices as they do turn up cheap.
Fantastic!

i've been playing this endlessly i don't know how many times by now since it landed on my collection. and still remainds one of the greatest records i have lestined to how they control Hempire 4tH track in the album 03:09 the sound is hypnotic and puts you right to the edge it's amaizing sound that you can hear so it connects to your spirit in a way that you want it to control what's destened for you to listene to music and deeply try and demand to understand what you hear as you feel. Incredibly the best of all time. -

First time I've heard about FFWD was with "Lucky Saddle" which was playlisted on the "Trance Europe Express - Volume 2" compilation, I've got this since a very long time, but I've never paid attention on it, when two months ago, I discovered this fabulous track, every sounds on it are a vision, it's just like you are... not a microphone but a camera... not the camera but the movie, the depth of the synth elements is just fabulous. The atmosphere is really cold and very intense, it's like time was suspended, you can feel that you are living a very special moment when you're listening this, "the soundtrack of your life". Believe me, this is just ESSENTIAL in your record library. This is probably one of the best all time ambiant album. -

Iridescent soundscaping, clicks and expert dubology make this one of the most under-rated ambient albums of the mid-nineties.
Check out Robert Fripp's 'The Gates of Paradise' (1997 , Discipline Mobile Global) or Fehlmann (feat. Fripp) EP 'U-god embryo battle. overflow minus-one'(1999 apolloapollo 040) 12", for more good stuff.
