Can someone PLEASE reissue this on vinyl? Perhaps a RSD special edition?

This was my first entry into Pat Metheny's music, and it contains some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. Autobiographical by nature, the use of orchestration is simply wonderful, culminating in the almost painfully heartbreaking final 5 tracks on side 4, which reduce me to tears every time I play them. Personally, my attention wavers somewhat in the middle of this album, but the start and end are amazing. My favourite piece is Finding and Believing. This track has everything, a start, middle and end, that should leave you with a smile on your face at the end. The use of Cambodian voices on the album is beautiful, and really works. Metheny has no problem in letting the orchestration on this album take centre stage, but there's still enough to satisfy from a guitar perspective.
With regard to the pressing, I sort of agree with the last reviewer, in as much as it may need remastering for vinyl. It was recorded purely digital from what I , and maybe suffers from being a bit narrow. I can't see a remaster happening though, so this version is the only one to get, if you want the vinyl.

Could really go for a remastered vinyl. It is great sounding but this album should be transcendent.

I have this version that came from Amazon sold by MovieMars. It came shrink wrapped and without an outer sleeve that would say Deluxe or Collectors Edition, but the spine says Deluxe Edition. The track list error for Disc Two mis-printed on both the back cover and in the booklet has been corrected in both places. The artwork printed on the front of Disc Two is a rather dark version of the photograph with grainy black flecks spattered around it. Everything on the matrix looks authentic. One sheet in the booklet has washed out ink that is a little paler and slightly miscolored. The booklet says mastered 2007 by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound. I am led to think this is not a remaster. I believe my copy is probably an authentic copy.

I've only given a 2 here because this very release does not bring something new to the originally published Secret Story, artistically it is worth a 4. You should only consider getting this deluxe edition if and only if you're collecting every single Metheny records, otherwise stick with the widely available GED 24468.
